When do I need to renew my WWA membership?

The WWA membership runs from 1st July- 30th June. You will receive an automated email in June to remind you to renew.

What are the benefits of WWA Membership?

$20m worldwide 3rd party public liability insurance for windsurfing at events/competitions or recreationally. Unfortunately this excludes USA and Canada.

How is the membership fee spent by WWA?

WWA aims to break even at the end of each year. An over view of a typical year in terms of income and expenditure is as follows:

Income:

  • Event fees
  • Membership fees
  • Sponsorship
  • Grants

Expenditure:

  • Merchandise i.e t-shirts and stickers
  • Event safety costs, i.e. jetski or boat hire
  • Other event costs, i.e. permits, trophies
  • Insurance
  • Affiliation fees
  • Maintaining equipment, i.e. trailer, marks
  • Admin, i.e. website, online payment

Do I qualify for the insurance?

Anyone who is a WWA member qualifies for insurance, regardless of nationality or age.

Am I insured when I go on Holiday overseas?

The WWA insurance policy covers most overseas countries except for the United States of America and Canada. Please have a look at the Certificate of Insurance to ensure you're covered.

Where can I find my sail number?

Sail numbers are managed by AWA and can be found in the link below. Please allow up to two weeks from a new membership for sail numbers to be registered.
